The category selection is unusually narrow and specific. For homeowners managing maintenance costs, families with regular medical expenses (copays, prescriptions, OTC purchases at qualifying merchants), or people with significant auto-related spend (gas isn't included here, but service and parts are), the bonus rate is meaningful. For everyone else, the categories don't fire often enough to justify the card over a broader-category competitor like the Capital One Savor or Blue Cash Preferred.
