The original OpenSky Secured: small annual fee, the lowest variable APR in OpenSky's lineup, modest minimum security deposit, no credit check required, cash back at participating merchants.

The lower APR matters only if you carry a balance (which credit-builders shouldn't). For paying-in-full users, the no-fee OpenSky Plus is the better economic choice. The case for the original OpenSky Secured over the Plus comes down to the lower deposit minimum and the lower APR — both useful in narrow circumstances but rarely decisive. For most applicants, OpenSky Plus is the right OpenSky card.
