The Select sits between Assent (fee-free) and Prestige (lowest APR) in the First Progress lineup: a small annual fee, a moderately lower APR than Assent, the standard deposit minimum, the same rewards structure.

The middle option is rarely the best option. If you'll pay in full every month and rewards don't matter much, the no-fee Assent is cheaper. If you'll carry balances and want the lowest possible APR, the Prestige saves more interest than the small fee difference. The Select's case is narrow: someone who wants a slightly lower APR than Assent but doesn't want the Prestige fee. For most credit-builders, that case doesn't quite materialize and one of the other two is the better pick.
