Editor's Take
CardCompareHub editorialEditorial Note: This analysis reflects CardCompareHub's independent review. It has not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by The Bank of Missouri.
The Destiny Mastercard is an unsecured card for poor-to-good credit: a sharp first-year fee dropping to a more modest ongoing fee, a high APR, a guaranteed credit limit, a small foreign transaction fee, no rewards. Soft-pull pre-qualification is available.
The all-in first-year cost is high for an unsecured card with no rewards. The Capital One Platinum Secured ($0 fee, refundable deposit) builds credit at zero net cost if you get the deposit back. The Destiny's only real edge is no deposit required, which matters if you can't tie up cash in a security deposit. After year one, the lower ongoing fee makes the card more competitive with other no-deposit unsecured options, but the Mission Lane Visa ($0 fee, similar credit tier) is generally a better long-term home.
