Editor's Take
CardCompareHub editorialEditorial Note: This analysis reflects CardCompareHub's independent review. It has not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by Credit One Bank®.
The Credit One Secured Card requires a minimum security deposit, has no annual fee, earns rewards in narrow categories (gas, groceries, mobile, internet/cable/satellite), a high APR, and a foreign transaction fee.
Unusually for a secured card, Credit One reports the deposit account as earning interest — a small detail, but it means you're not losing time-value on the deposit the way you would with most secured cards. The narrow-category rewards look better than they earn; the Capital One Quicksilver Secured pays a flat rate on every purchase with no category restrictions and a similar deposit minimum. As a credit-builder, Capital One's product is the cleaner choice; this card is a fit only if Capital One declines you.
