Strata Elite is Citi's new premium travel card with an elevated rate on hotels, cars, and attractions through cititravel.com, a bonus on air travel booked through the same portal, and a unique "CitiNights" category — extra rewards on restaurants on Friday and Saturday evenings during specific hours. Annual hotel credit applies to two-night stays through Citi's portal.

The CitiNights category is novel and oddly specific. For people whose dining spend skews to weekend evenings, the rate stacks well; for weekday diners, it earns less. The hotel credit requires a two-night-minimum booking through Citi's portal, which limits redemption flexibility versus the Capital One Venture X's portal-agnostic credit. The Strata Elite earns its keep for households that fly frequently with Citi transfer partners and book hotels through Citi Travel anyway; it doesn't compete with the Venture X or Amex Platinum on raw value for non-Citi-loyalists.
