The secured version of the Quicksilver: refundable security deposit, no annual fee, the same flat cash-back rate as the unsecured Quicksilver. The unusual feature is that the rewards rate matches the prime-credit Quicksilver — most secured cards either don't offer rewards or pay less. This is rare.

For credit-builders, that earn rate makes real money while the card does its primary job (reporting on-time payments to bureaus). The rewards offset isn't enough to be a primary reason to choose this card, but it's meaningful as a tiebreaker against rewardless secured cards like OpenSky Plus. After a year or so of clean payment history, you'll likely be eligible to graduate to an unsecured card and recover the deposit. Among secured cards, this is one of the few worth keeping past the build phase.
