Editor's Take
CardCompareHub editorialEditorial Note: This analysis reflects CardCompareHub's independent review. It has not been reviewed, approved, or endorsed by Bank of America.
The BankAmericard is a balance-transfer specialist: a long 0% APR window on both purchases and balance transfers, with the trade-off being a higher transfer fee than competitors charge for the intro period. No rewards, no annual fee, no penalty APR for late payments — Bank of America explicitly states that paying late won't automatically raise your interest rate.
The 0% window is among the longest on the market, but the transfer fee is on the high side; competitors like the Citi Simplicity offer a comparable window at a lower intro fee. If you can pay off the balance within the intro window, the longer term doesn't matter; the lower fee does. This card wins when you want the no-penalty-APR safety net more than the lowest possible fee.
